Cocoa Energy Nuggets

Our energy nuggets are just that…ENERGIZING! They are a great balance of carbohydrate, protein and fat with the added functional benefits of cocoa powder! Great to have as a snack or before/after exercise!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup nut butter

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 2 cups oats

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 15 - 20 grams chocolate protein powder (whey isolate or plant based), NSF Certified for Sport or Informed Sport Certified

Preparation:

  1. Place nut butter, coconut oil and honey in a bowl and mix until the mixture is smooth. You may need to microwave it for a short time or heat in a bowl over boiling water (do not immerse in the water).

  2. Once the mixture is smooth, stir in oats, cocoa and protein powder. The mixture will look a bit dry but will come together as you stir it.

  3. Partition the mixture into whatever shape you like (circles/nuggets or flat like small pancakes), place on a non-stick dish in the refrigerator for 1 - 2 hours and enjoy!
